I've always been a tiny bit concerned about hubs's SA results showing his pH to be at 8.0. Yes, it is within the "normal" range (7.2 - 8.0), but I worried that it was on the high end of normal. The doctors haven't been concerned with it. But you know how it is being an IFer, questioning everything!
I won't bore you with the details of how I found this, but take a look:

It's a conversation among a bunch of doctors discussing the usefulness of measuring semen pH in SA, and even more interesting (I thought) - that the "normal" range is pretty arbitrary. I don't necessarily agree with everything they say, but overall it makes sense. And it makes me feel a lot better about hubs's results!

Oh my gosh! Lol! A few months ago when I was going to my old re I had the same questions! Dh had done a SA back in February 2009 and we were given the results and everything was in the "normal" range. But I kept thinking well is there a low and high end to normal? Ugh it drove me insane. Now that we've switched insurance I gave her the paper, she looked at it for 5 seconds and said "no, he's fine". And I'm thinking wth?
Anyway, how funny that we are going through and thinking the same things. Well not funny, but you know what i mean.
I don't understand how doctors are so "lenient" on sperm issues. I used to get so frustrated that they would say my husband's sperm morophology was low and I had 2 m/c yet they said that wasn't the probelm. But, they could never figure out what the problem was.
I wish they work on solving the problem instead of always suggesting IVF.
DH had a high PH as well, the urologist just put him on a antibiotic and it went down. Could you maybe try that?
