C. Chore you dislike: All of them.  But cleaning the kitchen in particular.  Oh and vacuuming the cat hair off of the couch.

D. Dogs: What about them?  I have a cat, but I've had lots of dogs too.  And Hubs wants one.  That's the end of that story so far.

H. Height: Aaaaaalmost 5'8".  I never got that last 1/4 inch.

I. Instruments you play(ed): I used to play the piano and sing.  I'm getting pretty terrible at both now that I never practice.

J. Job title: It's ridiculously long: AVP Wire Operations Manager and Cash Management Support Supervisor.  But don't I sound important?

N. Nicknames: My name is a nickname, but I also get Kitten and Kit pretty regularly. There used to be many more as you can imagine, but I guess I've hit the age where people don't use them so much anymore.

P. Pet peeves: People who use their windshield washers on the freeway.

S. Siblings: Three - two brothers and one sister (I'm #3).

T. Time you wake up: 5:45 or whenever Atticus decides he's waited long enough for me to get up and feed him.

V. Vegetables you don’t like: Hmm, there aren't many... Squash I guess.

W. What makes you run late: Just generally lagging while I'm getting ready.  (And P.S. this is a total cop-out question, using the word "What" for W!  How about "W: Where's the imagination?")

X. X-rays you’ve had: Teeth, neck/spine, and head.  (Believe it or not, there's a real live human brain in there!)

Y. Yummy food you make: Veggie fajitas, artichoke dip, French toast... everything I make is yummy!  Well, except when I burn it. :)

I'm not trying to hide anything here, I freely admit that I am a survey whore. Does that make me self-centered and vain? It is entirely possible. But I will never apologize for it! Never!!!

Were you named after anyone? Why yes, yes I was. Both of my grandmothers, and I got one of their nicknames to boot!
When was the last time you cried? I actually don't remember. That's got to be a good sign, right?
Do you like your handwriting? What kind of question is this? I really could care less about my handwriting. It's messy, but it does the job.
What is your favorite lunch meat? Turkey. Chicken's good too. Oh, and tuna! That counts as lunch meat, right?
Do you have kids? Clearly, no. Except the one I've convinced myself is already in my ute. Hey, gotta think positive!
If you were another person, would you be friends with you? Of course. I am the shiz.
Do you use sarcasm a lot? My husband has a hard time telling when I'm being sincere vs. being sarcastic, so I guess you could say that.
Do you still have your tonsils? Yes, and thank you for asking.
Would you bungee jump? I'd rather skydive.
Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Only if I can't get them off while they're still tied.
Do you think you are strong? Physically? Not so much. Emotionally? Depends on the time of the month.
What is your favorite ice cream? Whatever kind is in my mouth. Mmm... ice cream...
What is the first thing you notice about people? I'm not real observant, so I don't know how to answer this. The first time I meet someone I usually forget their name and face as soon as they walk away.

What's the weather like? Crappy! It's overcast and drizzly and cold. Whoever stole my sunny SoCal weather - I want it back!
What is your favorite drink? Water. And wine. And beer.
What color shoes are you wearing? Black. I like to shake things up ;)
What was the last thing you ate? Leftover food from some meeting at work. I am all about freebies.
What are you listening to right now? My boss talking to the HAG, and I'm trying to tune the HAG out. Her voice makes me want to staple bagels to my face and remove them with a pitchfork (thanks for that wonderful analogy, Weird Al!).
If you were a crayon, what color would you be? I always liked the metallic Crayola colors, so maybe gold?
Favorite smells? The beach, jasmine, roses, clean laundry, and baked chicken with tons of herbs.
Who was the last person you talked to on the phone? One of my underlings.
Favorite sports to watch? Baseball!
Hair color? Brown.
Eye color? Dark green.
Do you wear contacts? I used to wear them exclusively, for years, but I haven't been lately; for some reason they've been killing my eyes, so I switched to glasses.
Favorite food? How can you have a single favorite when there is so much good stuff out there? Mexican, Greek, Italian, sushi, Chinese... I love it all.
Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings of course.
Last movie you watched? Ir.on Ma.n 2, I think.
What color shirt are you wearing? Ivory.
Summer or Winter? This time of year I can't wait for summer, but by the end of September I'll be itching for winter. I don't care much for Fall or Spring.
Hugs or kisses? Depends on who they're from! ;)
Car or truck? Hubs and I have both, and both are equally useful.
What book are you reading right now? I'm almost embarrassed to say it, but it's a little piece of fluff called "The Temptation of the Night Jasmine," by Lauren Willig. It keeps me entertained on my lunch breaks.
What is on your mouse pad? The bank's logo and slogan. I'm fancy.
What did you watch on TV last night? Baseball I think, I wasn't really paying attention.
Favorite sound? A nice breeze rustling through a palm tree, waves crashing, piano and classical guitar.
Rolling Stones or Beatles? I guess the Beatles, but I like them both.
Where do you want to go to next? Well, I want to go to Hawaii or Greece or somewhere like that, but I'll actually be going camping at a beach up the coast next. I'll take whatever I can get though!
Do you have a special talent? We all have special talents! Let's see... I can sing a bit, fry taco shells, I have a good eye for design, and I make killer dips and spreads (a newly discovered talent)!
Where were you born? Same place I live now; it just wouldn't be the same without me! ;)

What is your salad dressing of choice? Balsamic vinaigrette.

What is your favorite sit-down restuarant? I can't pick just one! Ma.caro.ni Grill for a chain, and lots of local places - The Greek, Gloria's Kitchen, Sushi Marina, Cafe Nouveau... I love food.

What is your favorite fast food restaurant? In-n-Out, hands down! I feel a little sorry for anyone east of Nevada because it doesn't exist out there.

What food could you eat every day for two weeks and not get sick of? Mexican.

What are your pizza toppings of choice? Pepperoni, and all the veggies.

How many televisions are in your house? Two.

What color cell phone do you have? Orange and black.

Have you ever had anything removed from your body? Some teeth and some endo.

What is the last heavy item you lifted? Our new doors.

Have you ever been knocked unconscious? Yep. I crashed my bike into a car when I was 10. Woops!

Have you ever fainted? Yep, due to AF! She has always been my nemesis.

If you could change your name, what would you change it to? I wouldn't. I WOULD like to get people to pronounce it correctly though (I am NOT "Katie Van Doreen").

FAVORITOLOGY:

Season? In the winter I long for summer, and vice versa. So right now, summer!

Holiday? Anything that yields me a day off work.

Day of the week? Friday, right before the weekend. I guess I love the anticipation.

Month? July, my birthday month!

Color? Pretty much any shade of teal.

Drink? Water or green tea. Alcoholic - wine or martinis.


CURRENTOLOGY:

Missing someone? Hubs. I've made it halfway through his absence though, only 2 more nights!

What are you listening to? One of my minions on a personal call. She makes way too many.

What are you watching? Just the monitor. The world around me is a barren beige wasteland.

Worrying about? Nothing at the moment; that's gotta be a first!

What's the last movie you saw? Extract. It kinda sucked.

Do you smile often? I think so. I know I laugh too much, so I must smile a lot.

If you could change your eye color what would it be? Brighter green. People always think they're brown because they're so dark.

What's on your wish list for your birthday? A baby in the belly. If that doesn't work out, a big party. I'm turning 30!

Can you do a chin-up? I am sure I cannot.

Does the future make you more nervous or excited? Excited. I've always looked forward to my 30's, they can't be worse than my 20's. (Knock on wood.)

Have you been in a car wreck? Nothing too serious, but yes.

Last time you cried? Hmm... I actually can't remember.

Plans tonight? Girls' night in at my place. Should be fun!

How did you bring in the New Year? Sitting on the couch watching Sou.th Pa.rk.

Would you go back in time if you were given the chance? Nope.

What songs do you sing in the shower? Whatever's in my head. Which usually isn't much at 6 a.m. I sing in the car all the time though.

Have you held hands with someone today? Nope.

Who was the last person you took a picture of? Atticus. Yes, he is a person. :)

Are most of the friends in your life new or old? I guess new, but I'm still closest with my old friends.

Do you like pulpy orange juice? Eh, I like a little pulp.

Last time you ate peanut butter and jelly? It's been forever.

What were you doing at 12 a.m. last night? SLEEPING. Probably snoring too.

What was the first thing you thought of when you woke up? Well, Atticus woke me up at 4:30 with a cold paw on my arm, so it was probably something like, "What the hell do you want?? NO I am not going to feed you right now!!" But I pretended to be asleep so he'd leave me alone. It worked, he fell back asleep. I didn't.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I like wrapping gifts in paper if I have time. I think it's always more fun to tear into wrapping paper!

2. Real tree or artificial? REAL. Even if I wanted an artificial tree hubs would never allow it!

3. When do you put up the tree? Whenever we get around to it! This year it was the day before my lap, so the 9th. Kind of early for us.

4. When do you take the tree down? A couple days after Christmas. This year we're planning on having a "Burn Your Tree" party, so it might get to stay up a little later than usual. (Don't worry, we're going to cut the trees up and burn them in the fire pit.)

5. Do you like eggnog? It's okay. I used to love it as a kid but I haven't had it in years.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Not sure about a favorite, but I remember getting a "premie" Cabbage Patch Kid when I was 5 that I loved.

7. Hardest person to buy for? My dad. He has SO MUCH STUFF already, I never know what to get him. This year I think I did pretty good though... I hope!!

8. Easiest person to buy for? I must be a terrible Christmas shopper because I don't think ANYONE is easy!

9. Do you have a nativity scene? No.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail is way more fun. I try to make and mail ours every year.

11. Worst Christmas ever? The only thing that comes to mind is having the flu with my brother one year when we were little kids.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie(s)? White Christmas. My friend, her mom and I watch it together every year.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Haha, as if I'm that organized! Cute. Ummm this year I did almost all my shopping last Saturday. Granted, it's going to be a "light" year!

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Of course! It's good for the environment ;)

15 .Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Green bean casserole. I think I said the same thing for Thanksgiving. I just LOVE it! Mmm...

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We stay in town, but don't let that fool you. We definitely won't be home for most of the day!

20. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Morning, when we have gifts! Hubs already started playing his (a video game of course), but he says he has something for me. So at least I will have something to open. :)

21. Name one annoying thing about this time of the year. Just one??? Sorry, that was my inner grinch coming out! Umm... too many people on the roads making my commute hellacious.

22. Favorite ornament theme or color? I don't know about "favorite," but our tree always has the same theme because that's all the ornaments we have! It's red, white and sparkly.

23. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Repeat of Thanksgiving! Mmm...

24. What do you want for Christmas this year? Nothing really. I mean, I did want a BFP but since that's not going to happen, I'm just wishing for one in 2010!
