Bundle of nerves

That's me!

I've always been a worrier, a pessimist, an over-stresser. Heck, one of my employees actually gave me this for Christmas! It is quite fitting, and I love it. :)

But it seems my stress is catching up with me. My doctor (well, NP) thinks my headache is actually a tension headache, because I didn't have all the classic migraine signs (no nausea and only mild sensitivity to light). She then asked if I've been under a lot of stress lately and I started crying. I think that answers that question.

She suggested I see a therapist and start exercising again. I've been very lethargic lately, not wanting to do anything and not wanting to do nothing. I'm pretty sure I'm on the brink of depression again, which sucks. I'll be looking for a therapist this week, hopefully insurance will cover something, lord knows it doesn't do much else for me.

Now to get motivated... We canceled our gym memberships a few months ago and our neighborhood isn't the best for walking/biking (no sidewalks and a lot of traffic). I have a yoga DVD but I feel like I should get outside. I suppose I could go to the beach or the park. Any suggestions? What do you ladies like to do for exercise?

I think walking on the beach, even alone, is great therapy on its own. It's just so relaxing to walk through the sand and water especially in the evening when it's a little cooler out.

I also have been looking for some outdoor exercise. I have the same problem here. No sidewalks and too much traffic. I wished I lived on a lake or something...or near trails, mountains...something.

I might end up doing my Leslie Sansone video or get on my treadmill.

I'm sorry you are having a rough time. ((hugs)) I am so happy I went on Zoloft. It is the best thing I have could have done for myself.

Unfortunately, I can relate lately! The CVS "Stress Formula" vitamin blend is helping to cut some of my physical syptoms (i break out!).

Ummm, if it helps any, you just reminded me that I DO have a work out DVD that's broken into 10 min segments. So, thanks for that.

I hope you feel better soon. (((HUGS)))

Gosh, you sound so much like me right now. I am trying to make myself get up and do something; maybe it will help my depression. I like to do Zumba and belly dancing. They teach both around me on certain nights for $5.

Thanks for that first part. It gave me the smile I needed today. And I can SO see someone buying me that mug... ;)

Crap, sounds like a few of us are in the same boat...talking with the therapist has helped me but I guess I need to step up my exercise a bit too !

I live a "hood" that is not condosive (sp?) to outside activities...I usually drive to a park to walk. I also take Yoga & Pilates classes which I love, love, love!!! At home, I do Belly dancing dvd, Walk away the Pounds and I just purchased the 30 Day Shredd. Mine you when I am in the dumpers I usually just sit & watch the Dvd while eating chocolate ! lol...

My advice is to start small and don't put pressure on yourself "to exercise." Make it about getting out to clear your head and to take a few minutes for yourself. Exercise very easily becomes just another stressor that can join the cycle in your head of not wanting to do anything but not wanting to do nothing. (That was very well put; it describes many of my days to a T!)

A walk on the beach sounds lovely. Are there lots of seashells on your beach? I've always found looking for pretty shells to be relaxing. Anywhoooo... good luck, Kitty. I hope the insurance covers *something* for you.
